It’s over, it’s done. Media Future Week 2014 is a fact! 4 days of work has ended and we hope we’ve created a lot of new entrepreneurs. We want to thank all the participants for joining and their hard work. But also all the other people involved making this event, the event it is. Hilversum media park has treated us good, let’s hope that in return we left a positive footprint for them to remember us when we all go back to our normal lifes.

The last mile
They say the last mile is the longest one. The passion for what we are doing is keeping everyone motivated to keep on running to the finish. Both studios were being fully used, groups devided tasks so some people were working hard to finish their prototype while other members of the group tried to remember their presentation in pecha kucha style. The deadline is coming closer and closer. At the end all the teams managed to get everything together and ready for the last part of MFW, the presentations!

Wilbert Mutsaers
Everyone sat back and enjoyed the last keynote speaker. A small distraction to get the minds of the presentations and a final inspiration this week. Wilbert’s talk was about 3FM serious request (famous for ‘het glazenhuis’). Showing videos about what the glazenhuis is all about, how they came up with the idea, how it grew to be such a big thing and keeps on growing even internationally. But 3FM is more than serious request, it’s also one of the most famous radiostations we’ve got in the Netherlands. How can such an old medium still be relevant in today’s world? Wilbert showed some things they did to survive in this rapidly changing media landscape, including a deal they made with Spotify. His presentation was a good way to end the week with.

Media park
We left Almere after 3 years, to make Hilversum our new home. This year was the first time MFW was being held at the Media Park. With studio 3 and 4 as our main working ground and Beeld en Geluid used for presentations and diner, we had a great new home for the event. Hilversum is known for being the media capital of the Netherlands and Beeld en Geluid has an enormous archive about the Dutch media, being one of the biggest media archives in Europe. Without history there is no future, so the perfect place for our event in the heart of the media industry.

Presentations
20 slides, 20 seconds. You should think that’s not a lot, and it isn’t, to be honest. But today 10 teams showed what the possibilities are when you use the creativity of a whole team. 10 presentations, each within their own unique style and all top-notch material. They took the crowd by the hand and showed them their ideas, progress and product. Needless to say, the case partners were impressed. It shows that a lot of dedication and hard work can produce the most awesome ideas in just 4 days.

Thank you
We would like to thank all the students, teachers, professors and young professionals for joining Media Future Week 2014. But also all the people making everything happen. All the energy and passion makes MFW the event it is. A lot of happy people, good stories and interesting products. Thank you for participating and we hope to see you again. As alumni, as the next best futurist or as a CEO of the most innovating company of this time. Until that time, thank you for participating!

Event overview
The whole week there was little time to see all the photos, videos and read all the things being shared online. So if you are coming home and have some energy left, here are some links for you to remember and see all the things that happened this week. All photos are available on our Flickr or Facebook. And even some photos taken with Google glass. Most of the presentations can be watched on our Vimeo account and some slideshows are being shared on slideshare Of course a lot of things happened on twitter! You can see all our tweets @mediafutureweek or even more if you search for #MFW14.
