3FM’s Wilbert Mutsaers is the closing keynote speaker of MFW14! Before the final presentations, he is going to tell us everything about 3FM’s biggest event: Serious Request. A very interesting project in the light of MFW’s central theme Media Responsibility. As station manager of 3FM, Wilbert will tell you about the preparations (that have already started for 3FM Serious Request 2014), the social media explosion during the event and the impact it has on 3FM and also on society.

Wilbert Mutsaers became 3FM’s station manager in 2009. Before his job at 3FM, he was working for Universal Music for eight years. Wilbert is a true music freak. He was President of the MusicXport Commission Pop and Jazz & World Music, Member of the Steering Committee of the Metropole Orchestra and is President of the TAX Videoclipfund.

3FM Serious Request is a cooperation between 3FM and th Red Cross to raise money and awareness for a silent emergency. In the week before Christmas three 3FM DJs join for six days in a glass studio somewhere on a square in a Dutch city. They don’t eat and make 24-hour live radio and television and can be followed online. The public may request songs for a fee and can raise money for the silent emergency by implementing their own campaigns. In 2013, 3FM’s Serious Request has raised €12.302.747 for the combat against diarrhea.
