MFW17 practical information for participants

We are only one week away from a week full of innovation, co-creation, hard work and a lot of fun. For all MFW17 participants: here you can find all practical information about the week, hotels, registration and so on.

Registration

We will welcome you on Monday May 15th from 09:00 a.m. in the institute of Sound and Vision (Beeld en Geluid). Here you can register yourself and drop off your luggage. Make sure you are in time, because the program will start at 10:00 a.m. sharp. Your luggage will be stored in a secured space until the end of the day, when we move to the hotel at about 21.30.

Program

The Media Future Week starts Monday May 15th at 09:00 a.m.  and ends on Thursday May 18th at 17.00 p.m. with drinks. The program consists of inspiring lectures, master classes and high energy co-creation sessions. You can see the full program here. Prepare yourself for an intense, inspiring and fun week. Kiss your boy-/girlfriend goodbye, hand over a loving note to your parents because you’ll be traveling through time for the next four days! Don’t be surprised if it is not until after the final presentations on May 18th that you’ll be in touch with the rest of the world again.

Check in

During MFW17 you’ll sleep at ‘Van der Valk Hotel Hilversum de Witte bergen’. You will share a hotel room with another participant. When you have someone in mind, you can register with a roommate at the Institute for Sound & Vision or at the Mediacetrum on Monday (before lunch). The distribution of the keys takes place in the evening at the hotel. Do you have any dietary requirements which you didn’t mentioned on the registration form? Send an email to Ruben Seignette (ruben.seignette@immovator.nl)

Check out

On Thursday, May 18th you need to check out between 07.00 and 08.30 a.m. at the hotel. Do this in time, because the program starts promptly at 9:00 am on Thursday, like it does every day. This morning you can leave your luggage at the registration desk in the institute for Sound and Vision. Your luggage will be stored in a secured space until the end of the day. After the presentation and drinks you can pick it up again and travel home.

Accessibility Media Park

MFW17 will take place in the Institute for Sound & Vision (The presentations) and the Mediacentrum (Co-creation) at the Media Park. The Media Park is located directly next to Station Hilversum Media Park and is easily accessible with public transport. Opportunity for parking (You have to pay for parking, we advise you to travel by train) is available next to the Institute of Sound and Vision or at Parkingdeck A

We have arranged busses for the transport from and to the hotel. Every morning there are two busses that leave at 08:00 and 08:15 a.m. We don’t provide any other options, so make sure you are in time. At the end of the day the busses will bring you back to the hotel.

Don’t forget to bring:

  • Your passport or identity card for your check in
  • (Student) OV-chipcard
